Dr. Amoolya Rao has an impressive educational background, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She completed her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry, where she received extensive training to diagnose, manage, and treat a wide range of eye conditions. Dr. Rao's education has prepared her to provide exceptional eye care to her patients.

Dr. Rao's extensive education and training equip her with the necessary skills to provide comprehensive eye care to her patients. She completed a Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease residency through the New York VA Healthcare System in association with the SUNY College of Optometry. During her clinical and residency training, Dr. Rao had the exciting opportunity to work closely with specialists in Ophthalmology, which allowed her to gain valuable experience in diagnosing and managing various eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, uveitis, and retinal vascular disorders.

Outside of the office

When Dr. Rao is not providing comprehensive eye care to her patients, she enjoys practicing yoga, which has been a transformative self-care practice. She loves to travel and admire all the beauty around the world, and singing allows her to express her passion for music and creativity.
