Dr. Shakir is a board-certified ophthalmologist with extensive expertise and an unwavering commitment to excellence. He excels in the specialized fields of cataract and vitreoretinal surgery. After receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree at Albany Medical College, Dr. Shakir completed an internship at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore as well as an elite residency at the University of Florida. Additionally, Dr. Shakir pursued a fellowship in vitreous and retina surgery at Yale University.
Amoolya Rao, OD
Optometrist
Dr. Amoolya Rao obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Illinois. Her Doctorate of Optometry was completed at the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Rao pursued her residency in Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease via the New York VA Healthcare System (SUNY College of Optometry.) She excels in the treatment of ocular diseases and also provides outstanding eye care in the form of comprehensive examinations and contact lens fittings.
